Dreamhost DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is an email authentication standard that aims to prevent email spoofing and phishing.

It works by verifying that the email has not been altered during transit between the sender and receiver.

When an email is sent, Dreamhost generates a digital signature, which is tacked onto the message‚Äôs header as a DKIM-Signature.

When the receiver receives the email, their mail server will search for the DKIM-Signature.

If one is found, the mail server can then check that the signature is valid and, if so, it will ensure the email was sent from the claimed sender.
